US Census American Community Survey (ACS) 5-Year Estimates

RESOURCE DESCRIPTION

The American Community Survey (ACS) provides estimates for various population metrics. Data includes population by sex, race, ethnicity, age range, poverty level, income, and more. The population of a census summary level can also be segmented by industry of employment, such as "Information", "Retail trade", and "Educational services, and "health care and social assistance." Health insurance coverage status is also available from the ACS. While less current than the 1-year estimates, the 5-year estimates are available for every census summary level in the US. 1-year estimates are only available for areas with 65,000+ people. Additionally, the COVID-19 pandemic delayed the release of the 2020 ACS estimates.
